So true. The joy of sharp tools was a revelation to me and it opened the door (not the Ikea wardrobe door) to appreciating and enjoying the materials.
The more you enjoy building it the better your boat will be.

I'm still thinking about this slow thing; I've certainly got a negative opinion of yachties motoring when they could sail and strongly believe that one of the most important aspects of sailing is that it takes you into a very different place in the world and among a very different and generally better community. But I think I'd add a few things to the manifesto! For one thing, I think some really good books are necessary, given all the waiting for the tide that's involved, and that singing and music are essential, so long as the crew is singing and playing...

Lookin' good! I think we are about at the same point in construction, but with quite different boats. I'm looking forward to your continued progress.

Hello, Osbert!

Thank you very much for the post that dedicate to “The Slow Sailing manifesto”. Pleased to share these ideas with you and with all navigators that feel the sea and the navigation in the same way. I have put a link in my blog to yours, and thus I will be able to follow closely the construction of your boat. I apologize you for my horrible English.

Greetings from the Mediterranean Sea!

Great looking boat. I was thinking about a Walkabout, but reckoned it too difficult, before I chose the light trow. It's a boat with a lot of proven potential and it will give you a lot of fun on the water. Good luck!
